Create a Question

To create a Question, follow these steps:

1. Click on the "Surveys" tab located at the top of the administrative user interface.

2. Select the Survey to which you want to add a Question in the list of Surveys below the "Surveys" small tab located on the left hand side of the administrative user interface.

3. Click on the "Add new question." button.

4. In the new question dialog, select the type of question to create and press the "Ok" button.

5. Enter the Question's name.

6. Enter the Question's text.

7. Follow the steps below for the type of question you created.

8. Enable skip logic if you want to make this question conditional to the answers provided for other questions:

1. Click on the "Skip Logic" tab located at the top of the question's window.

2. Check the "Enable skip logic" checkbox.

3. Enter conditions that a participant's answers to other questions must meet in order to answer the question. The conditions are entered as search criteria.

1. Do not enter any search criteria for questions that are after the question for which you are enabling skip logic.

2. Do not enter any search criteria for the question for which you are enabling skip logic.

9. Click on the "Save" button.

10. Click on the "Preview" tab located at the top of the question's window.

Categorical

1. Create the Question's Answers.

1. In the Answers section header, click on the "Add"  button.

2. In the dialog, enter one answer per line and click the "Ok" button.

Custom Fields

1. Create the Question's Fields

1. Select the type of field you want to add in the dropdown list of field types.

2. Click on the "Add a new custom field" button.

3. Make the desired changes to the field's properties. The properties grid appears in the lower right corner of the Question's window.

4. Start from step 1.1 to add another Custom field.

Image Selection

1. Create the Question's Answers

1. In the Answers section header, click on the "Add a new Answer." button.

2. Enter the answer's short identifier.

3. Enter the answer's text.

4. Click on the "Choose File" button and select the image file for this answer.

5. Click on the "Upload" button to upload the image to the server.

6. Start from step 1.1 to add another Answer.

2. Optionally, enter a Minimum Required Choices to force participants to make a selection.

3. Optionally, enter a Maximum Choices to limit the number of selections a participant can make.

Likert Scale

1. Create the Question's Likert Scale Items

1. In the "Likert Scale Items" section header, click on the "Add"  button.

2. In the dialog, enter one Scale Item per line and press the "Ok" button.

2. Create the Question's Statements

1. In the "The statements to be rated using the Likert scale" section header, click on the "Add"  button.

2. In the dialog, enter one Statement per line and press the "Ok" button.

Multiple Choice

1. Create the Question's Answers

1. In the Answers section header, click on the "Add"  button.

2. In the dialog, enter one answer per line and click the "Ok" button.

2. Optionally, enter a Minimum Required Choices to force participants to make a selection.

3. Optionally, enter a Maximum Choices to limit the number of selections a participant can make.

Matrix

1. Create the Question's Rows

1. In the Rows section header, click on the "Add"  button.

2. In the dialog, enter one row caption per line and click the "Ok" button.

2. Create the Question's Columns

1. In the Columns section header, click on the "Add a new Column." button.

2. Enter the caption for the column.

3. Select a Type of the column.

4. Enter Values if the column is of Type Categorical, Checkboxes or List.

5. Start from step 2.1 to add another Column.

Ordinal

1. Create the Question's Answers

1. In the Answers section header, click on the "Add"  button.

2. In the dialog, enter one answer per line and click the "Ok" button.
